Gary Owen has been entertaining American audiences for more than a decade with his side-splitting comedy. Having performed to sold-out audiences in all the major comedy clubs and theatres across the country, Owen is one of America’s most beloved comedians and was proclaimed by Ebony magazine as Black America’s “Favorite White Comedian.”
Audiences can now see Owen in his fourth Showtime comedy special, “GARY OWEN: DOINWHATIDO” which premiered on Saturday, September 7th. This is the follow-up to his three previous Showtime specials titled “I Got My Associates,” which came out in Fall 2018, and “I Agree with Myself” and “True Story,” both of which aired on Showtime in 2015.

Gary Owens (born Gary Bernard Altman; May 10, 1934 – February 12, 2015) was an American disc jockey, voice actor, announcer and radio personality. His polished baritone speaking voice generally offered deadpan recitations of total nonsense, which he frequently demonstrated as the announcer on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. Owens was equally proficient in straight or silly assignments and was frequently heard on television and radio as well as in commercials.

Owen, was always the "class clown" when comedian Gary Owen was growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After high school, comedian Gary Owen got serious and enlisted in the Navy. Comedian Gary Owen was chosen for the prestigious Presidential Honor Guard. Spinning rifles and carrying flags for George Bush and Bill Clinton turned out to be the wrong job for a funny guy.
