On August 29 of 1969, Lucero Hogaza León is born in Mexico City. Since she was a very little girl, she showed interest in acting and singing, preparing herself with dance and music lessons. In the year of 1980, with no more than 10 years old, she participates in the auditions for a children’s program named Alegría de Medio Día where she performed along with her guitar and conquers the hearts of César González “El Pollo” who gives her her first opportunity with this prime time show along with other very talented children(Aleks Syntec, Usy Velasco, Carlos Espejel, Ginny Hoffman and many others).
In less than a year and after a big success, the show changes concept, schedule and name for Chiquilladas. She is a multi-platinum singer in Mexico and has sung in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Lucero has sold more than 30 million records worldwide.[1] She is often referred to as "La Novia De América" ("America's Girlfriend").[2]
As a child she starred in the popular Mexican children shows Alegrias de Mediodia and Chispita.[2] She went on to release a series of successful albums. Some of her songs peaked on top of most of the Latin charts including the Billboard charts in the US. She received her first leading role in the film Coqueta and went on to film a total of seven movies. Lucerito was born on August 29, 1969 in Mexico City. Since an early age, she had the characteristics of an artist. At age 10, Televisa offered her the opportunity to try out for a new kid's television show called "Alegria de mediodia." She joined many other talented children on the show.
She balanced her work and her academic studies. In addition to acting, she began taking dance classes to develop more self-confidence on stage.
