Dr. Fred David
Dr. David has a 30-year exemplary track record of research/scholarship accomplishments and teaching effectiveness. His research has been instrumental in moving the whole strategic management discipline globally from a theory/research approach to a more practical, functional, skills-oriented approach in the classroom. This shift in the discipline enables business students to finish their capstone course with marketable skills in strategic planning. His strategic management textbook, published in ten languages by Pearson, is a market leader in Japan, China, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Indonesia, Pakistan, Ireland, Singapore, and the Middle East, and the USA. Before joining the FMU business faculty in 1988, Dr. David was a professor at Auburn University, Mississippi State University, and East Carolina University. When not working on research/scholarship projects, Dr. David is a United States Coast Guard certified charterboat captain who takes people deep sea fishing along the Carolina coast.

Fred David
Austrian-born Australian aircraft designer
Friedrich Wilhelm "Fred" David, an Austrian Jew, who became the most significant aircraft designer for the Australian aircraft industry during World War Two; having been one of only a few people to have worked for both sides (Allies and Axis powers) in designing aircraft used during the war. David's most famous aircraft was the CAC Boomerang used by the Royal Australian Air Force during the Pacific War.[1]
As an Austrian Jew who had recently arrived in Australia in 1939 as a refugee, David was technically an enemy alien, so he had to report to the local Police Station weekly having been interned by Australian immigration officials. David was well-suited to the CAC project, since he had previously worked for Heinkel in pre-Nazi Germany, as well as Mitsubishi and Aichi Kokuki in Japan.[2] His design contributions in Japan resulted in the Mitsubishi A5M Claude fighter and the Aichi D3A Type 99 Val dive-bomber.
