Nmtb richard fairbrass biography

We’re three seasons away from ending the NMTB Watchdown, and there are still two episodes I’ve yet to see or review. One of them is S06E09, which is bloody elusive, and the other is the direct-to-video special Never Rewind the Buzzcocks, put out in 1998, and featuring four of the most trusted NMTB regulars: Sarah Cracknell from St. Etienne, Jonathan Ross, Noddy “IIIIIT’S CHRIIIISTMAAAS” Holder, and Savior of the First Four Seasons Math Priest. It was an hourlong special, harkening back to the good old days of the series. So tonight, before S26, I’m watching it down.

Plus, it’s an excuse to go back to a time when Phill, Sean Hughes and Mark Lamarr were all tight as hell as regulars, and the show could be breezy, fun, and not try too hard.

In the middle of Panelist Intros:
Mark: “Phill, I hate to bring this up, but I noticed you’re sitting down very gingerly tonight.”
Phill: “…it’s always nice, when you’re recording a video, to have your ass explode 20 minutes before….the recording, and yes

Never Mind the Buzzcocks

Never Mind the Buzzcocks is a BBC comedy quiz show based on the music industry. The show was hosted by Mark Lamarr, but he was replaced by Simon Amstell, then by a series of guest hosts, and now by Rhod Gilbert. Phill Jupitus and Noel Fielding are regular panelists, Fielding having taken over from Bill Bailey, himself the replacement for Sean Hughes.

Series 1

1x01

Mark: ABBA comprised of Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn and Anni-Frid and took their name from their initials. Four English singers tried repeat ABBA's success, but unfortunately William, Annie, Nigel and Keith - yes I said William, Annie, Nigel and Keith - couldn't think of a name. Agnetha eventually left ABBA, they replaced her with Ursula, and formed Abbu, who went on a spree of terror and destruction throughout the Middle East.
Mark: Shaun [Ryder] is an ex-Post Office worker who sang with the Happy Mondays and in 1993 formed Black Grape. So Shaun if you're watching, that's what you've been up to.

Clare Grogan: Okay,

More evidence that Series 16 could do no wrong: How do they follow an amazing episode with Kenzie? By bringing back the Patron Saint of Buzzcocks, Richard ‘Toblerone Bummer’ Fairbrass. Oh, this will be fantastic.

Terri Walker must be the 17,000th R&B star that Buzzcocks have had on this season. Magne Furuholmen is one of the principal songwriters from a-ha, which is pretty cool. Emma Griffiths is an MTV presenter.

Mark: “Emma’s first job was working in an old people’s home. Which means out of all of tonight’s guests, she’s seen more unpleasantness around old men’s asses-”
(Richard, off-camera, sees the punchline coming and starts cracking up.)
Mark: “Sorry, I forgot- Sorry Richard. Any other night I could finish that one…”

Emma: “They’re just god-awful aren’t they, Boyzone?”
Mark: “BONUS POINT!”

Mark, introing the Moby video: “Or, he’s bald, he’s tuneless, he’s deviant, he won’t shut up, he gets on your nerves, and he’s starin
