I listened to AQ today and was surprised to hear that you are medio Chapín.
I completely agree with your comments about Latin American politics viewed by Brits ( and America) as “football teams” and you pick which side to back …damn the consequences. Bring to mind the skirmishes leading to green go…gringo.
It is about time that Britain looked to improve relations with Latin America so ignored for centuries when repressive puppet dictatorships were the common outcome of American intervention. Our special relationship was thus preserved. Moral compasses indeed need to be reset, especially if Brexit leads to supposed tarrif free trade so mistakenly claimed has been denied Britain whilst in the eurozone…
Half my family remains in Guate too, although I expect they may have a different perspective on political allegiances. You will understand what I am saying.

Ian Dunt (born 4 February 1982) is a British author, political journalist and broadcaster. He currently writes as a columnist for the i.[1] He previously served for many years as the Editor of politics.co.uk. He was also a host on the Remainiacs podcast.[2][3][4] He currently hosts the Origin Story podcast with Dorian Lynskey and is a regular contributor to Late Night Live on ABC Radio National.
Early life
Dunt was born in Winchester and grew up in Chile and the UK (Winchester and Southampton). Dunt went to The Pilgrims' School,[5] a prep school in Winchester. Dunt holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy (2004) from University College London, a Master's in International Relations (2006) from University of Warwick and a Diploma in Journalism and Media Law (2008) from the London School of Journalism.[6][7]
